MR 5D Marks of the Church

VIDEO 3 ANALYSIS

Video three was all about the marks of the church and how they relate to the modern day church. This video was very interesting to me because it answered the question of out of so many churches, which one is the correct/true church? The first mark of the church is one- this mark of the church is very important because it shows the unity in the Catholic Church. We have one pope, one True God, and we do not split the power, so this mark proves that the Catholic Church is the correct church . The next Mark of the church is holy which the Catholic Church is. I believe that the Catholic Church is holy because it was established by Jesus. The next mark of the church is catholic. If you are like me you would think that this word narrows the churches down to the one CATHOLIC church, but it is imperative that we keep in mind that catholic means universal. Many churches say they are the correct church because they believe that there is a universal religion of Christianity. However, many scholars have said that catholic now refers to the one TRUE church. Finally, the last mark-apostolic- means that there is a succession of apostles which is still present in the church today because the line of popes are apostolic- they come straight from Peter.

I made this analysis based off of what I learned from the third video by Peter Kreeft. This analysis is very unique because I spent the whole time of the analysis explaining how the four marks of the church prove that the Catholic Church is the true church.
